At Tom Joy Digital Literacy & Leadership Magnet Elementary, students are introduced to technology and innovation to develop the curiosity and skills needed to succeed in a digital world. Digital literacy and leadership are not just integrated into one class but infused into projects and the curriculum.

Our school promotes lifelong learning through a clear focus on improving student achievement and personal growth. We personalize our instruction to meet the needs of our diverse population. Our goal is to assist every student in making the connection to the school, career choices and opportunities. Every day we strive to provide our students an opportunity to apply what they have learned in the classroom to real-life situations.

Community Matters

Many great things happen at Tom Joy Magnet through family and community collaboration. Our school offers programs that enhance Tennessee state standards, including fine arts, music, Reading Homework Hotline, Reading Clinic, instructional coaches and interventionists, Second Harvest Food Pantry, 21st-century technology in classrooms for teachers and students, as well as Encore for our gifted and talented students.
